The beauty of the 12-speed SRAM RED eTap AXS 1x Electronic Flat Mount HRD Groupset is its versatility. The rear derailleur has been designed to work with both 1x and 2x groupsets, and cassettes up to 10-33 teeth, giving a plethora of options when it comes to choosing gears. SRAM have used a fluid damper in place of a clutch in the rear derailleur to stabilise the chain suitably for 1x drivetrains, and the shift rate has been increased thanks to an improved motor and better signal speed.

The AXS phone app allows user customisation of some of the component functions, whilst also providing information about the state of the batteries and maintenance schedule.

The refreshed levers benefit from improved ergonomics and textured paddles, whilst retaining the intuitive one-paddle-per-side design of the original eTap. As well the AXS app function customisation the levers feature separate contact point and reach adjustment for the perfect set up. SRAM have even upgraded the disc brake calipers for a more positive feel.
